Zhonglin My name is Zhonglin, I painted "The world, our home" at Greenfield School in April, 2009. I used tempera paints and collage. First we painted our sky. Second the mid ground. Then I used a fork to give texture! I layered and layered to add depth to my painting. My feelings of our home and the world are wonderful, harmonious and peaceful! The fire-breathing dragon, the five stars and my father's old fashioned baby picture represent my homeland: China. My second homeland, Canada, is represented by the Canadian flag, the house I live in and the Quebec flags. The Quebec flags represent where I spent my earliest days. Even a black bear gave me an amazing impression of Banff national park in Alberta. On my face the two different colours show I am perfectly combined by the two different cultures. In From my view, I am a good bridge between the eastern hemisphere and the western hemisphere, the world is united! We are together! I love China, Canada and the world very much! There are two colours on the background: green means life and livingness, orange is our ground that supports all of us. I want everyone to know we live on the same beautiful planet, the earth is our big home. We need to treasure what we have, take care and protect our home for our bright future! |
