Originally when given the theme fire, I thought of a phoenix rising from flames. After considering the meaning of the bird my mind was brought to the idea of life rising from the ashes of destruction. Forest fires have been known to give space for the creation of new life; in a sense it could be seen as a means of rebirth for nature. Captivated by this concept, in my picture, I wished to illustrate flames bringing space for new life; showing the symbolic connection between intense destruction of life and the creation of the new.
