Celebration of Student Art
Edmonton Public Schools and the Shaw Conference Centre are pleased to announce that new student art is on display in the pARTnership Gallery, which is located in the Shaw Conference pedway. Thirty-two pieces of student art from 16 different schools were selected for this year's Shaw Conference Centre Student Artwork Show. This year, the Gallery was also a venue for The Works Art and Design Festival, which ran from June 23 to July 5 at various locations throughout the city.
On June 23, student artists celebrated the unveiling of their artwork with their teachers, family members, Trustees and staff from Edmonton Public Schools, as well as representatives from the Shaw Conference Centre and Edmonton Economic Development.
This new art show is part of a three year partnership between Edmonton Public Schools and the Shaw Conference Centre, with outstanding artwork created by Edmonton Public Schools' students being featured annually. The exhibition will run from June 23, 2011 to June 15, 2012.
Art that Moves You! Exhibit at Edmonton International Airport
Between June 30, 2011 and June 15, 2012, a celebration of visual learning and writing is being exhibited at Edmonton International Airport. District students created 28 works of art, which have been installed in the U.S. Departures Lounge for the viewing pleasure of passengers travelling to the United States. This opportunity is a result of our District's partnership with Edmonton International Airport.
