:: Media Releases Monday, March 2, 2009 MAGPIE MAGAZINE MORPHS INTO TAG Edmonton Public Schools is proud to launch TAG, an interactive online magazine showcasing student creativity. TAG is the 21st century version of the Magpie magazine, which was founded almost 30 years ago. TAG uses technology to feature student work by incorporating elements of writing, art, colour and design. Click here to have a look at our winter issue. Writing for an audience has been identified as one of the best practices to use to improve student achievement in writing. TAG provides a worldwide audience the opportunity to read and view exemplary samples of writing and artwork created by students from Kindergarten to Grade 12. There have already been over 14,000 viewings of TAG from around the world! TAG also provides opportunities for teachers and students alike to make comments on the selected art and writing. |
