:: Media Releases Monday, February 22, 2010 DONATIONS FOR HAITI To date, students and staff from 84 schools throughout Edmonton Public Schools have raised over $140,000 to support the victims of Haiti. Many of the fundraising activities were organized directly by students and included activities such as collecting change, having a community dance, hosting a pancake breakfast, selling popcorn and bottle drives. Millwoods Christian School alone raised over $15,500 and Greenfield School partnered with the Greenfield Baptist Church to collect over $14,300. Schools have chosen many different charities to support and the response by students and staff to this tragedy has been remarkable. |
