Board Policies and Regulations

1. In the event that a principal chooses to organize a student safety patrol to control student traffic at busy intersections near the school, student membership in the safety patrol shall be on a voluntary basis and with the parent's prior consent.

2. The safety patrol members shall at no time try to direct traffic on the streets, and shall stand on or back of the curb and not in the street.

3. The district's liability insurance policies cover safety patrol members while on duty.

4. The Alberta Motor Association is prepared to assist in organizing student safety patrols and in promoting traffic safety through in-school programs.
