:: Policy Review Listing

The Board Policies and Regulations Manual contains Board-approved POLICIES and ADMINISTRATIVE REGULATIONS approved by the Superintendent of Schools.

Board POLICIES (.BP) are statements, approved by the publicly elected Board of Trustees, which guide the desired operation of Edmonton Public Schools. Policies reflect the values Trustees bring as representatives of the community to a specific issue. Policies create a framework within which the Superintendent of Schools can discharge responsibilities and may contain statements of belief, expectation, and, or specific requirement.

ADMINISTRATIVE REGULATIONS (.AR) are the procedures and preferred practices established by the Superintendent of Schools that direct the Administration in the implementation or achievement of the results expressed in or intended by Board policy statements.

Mandatory statements are distinguished from advisory statements by the verbs used. Shall or must indicate a mandatory requirement; should or may indicate suggestion or advice.

The following Board Policy has undergone a routine review and is now open for additional stakeholder input:

1. ACB.BP - Multiculturalism and National Identity - Re-titled National Anthem and Flag
    (Open for stakeholder input from February 3, 2010 to March 3, 2010)
