Rentals and Leasing

RENT SPACE IN A SCHOOL

Space in schools may be rented for one-time or occasional non-recreational use during non-operational hours:

  • Monday to Friday 5 to 10 p.m. 
  • Saturday and Sunday 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. 

A variety of room types and sizes, such as classrooms, libraries, gymnasiums, cafeterias and auditoriums, are available.

SUBMIT A RENTAL REQUEST

STEP 1
Create an account with eBase.

STEP 2
Enter your information. Before you can complete registration, you will need to read and accept the Division’s rental guidelines

STEP 3
Create a permit request. You’ll be asked to share details about the number of attendees, your equipment needs and your insurance coverage.

STEP 4
Choose the school and the type of space you would like to rent.

STEP 5
Review your information. Once you’re ready, click Submit to send us your permit request.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT

We’ll review your request. You can sign into eBase any time to view the status of your request. View the permit status definitions to understand what your status means.

If we have questions, we’ll share those with you through the discussion portal in eBase. You’ll receive an email notification from eBase with details about how to respond using the discussion portal.

PERMIT APPROVED

If no further information is required, we’ll email you your permit.

PERMIT NOT APPROVED

If the school can’t accommodate your request, we’ll notify you through email.

PRESENT YOUR PERMIT 

You will be required to present a paper or digital copy of the permit to the school custodian at the start of your rental. If you’re renting space for multiple days, you will need to show the permit on each day.

RENT SPACE FOR MEETINGS OR SPECIAL OCCASIONS

Edmonton Public School’s Archives and Museum and The Bennett Centre are unique sites that transport event participants out of the ordinary and into distinctive settings to create memorable meetings, retreats and special occasions.

ARCHIVES AND MUSEUM (HISTORIC MCKAY AVENUE SCHOOL)

This stunning building provides a unique, memorable, and inviting space that can be used for events year-round. Our convenient downtown location, relationships with local catering companies, and six rooms to rent—each with its own unique charm—give us the ability and flexibility to accommodate everything from small business meetings to large fundraising galas.

THE BENNETT CENTRE

The Bennett Centre is located in Edmonton’s most picturesque urban park – the river valley. It is an excellent destination for community and corporate groups requiring an in-city day meeting or retreat location. Meeting rooms are available to rent in the day or evening. Meal service and accommodation are also available.

LEASE SPACE

Extra space in our open and closed schools may be leased (full-time use). Lease holders such as day cares, before and after school cares and many other community organizations provide valuable services that benefit students and the community.

Apply to lease space in our schools, by reading the Leasing Guidelines and then completing our Leasing Request Form. ‌
