These numbers represent enrolment on September 30 as submitted to Alberta Education.

Program enrolment may not equal a school's total enrolment because:

  • students may be enrolled in more than one program, and
  • some programs are not shown.

Enrolment data gives parents a general understanding of the number of students at a school or enrolled in a program. Although we’ve made every reasonable effort to ensure the data is accurate, there may still be errors. To confirm enrolment, contact the school.

About Michael A. Kostek School

Michael A. Kostek School develops successful students who are independent learners and responsible citizens. We offer regular programming from Kindergarten to Grade 6, with an emphasis on inquiry-based instruction, literacy instruction, assessment for learning and the integration of technology. Our literacy program includes daily guided reading, a home reading program and daily writing. Students develop numeracy skills through guided math, math games, open-ended math questions and problem-solving. French as a Second Language is offered in Grades 4 to 6.

Students benefit from our music program, which includes choir and handbells. We focus on student well-being by incorporating daily physical activity and relationship skill-building. Our students have the opportunity to develop leadership skills through many school clubs and school initiatives.

We serve the communities of Jamieson Place, Wedgewood Heights, Wedgewood Ravine, Cameron Heights and Edgemont South. We have strong parent involvement and our parent council and fundraising society support many school initiatives including outreach projects.

  • In using a variety of resources and tools to ensure that we develop critical creative thinkers who are able to discover, explore, investigate and reflect on our ever-changing world
