PROPOSED ATTENDANCE AREA REDESIGNATION

We are considering the possibility of redesignating the Glenridding Heights neighbourhood for the 2018-19 school year.

REASONS FOR THE PROPOSED CHANGE

We heard from the community that they would like students to attend a high school closer to home. Lillian Osborne School would be closer than the current high school designation.

The proposed change also would mean that all neighbourhoods within Dr. Margaret-Ann Armour’s attendance area would be designated to Lillian Osborne, so students could go through elementary, junior high and high school together.

CHOOSING TO REMAIN AT YOUR CURRENT SCHOOL

Once a student enrols at a school, they can continue to attend that school. Siblings of these students would also be able to attend, if families chose to stay at their current school.

TIMELINES

If the proposed redesignation is approved, the change would be in effect for the 2018-19 school year.

We'll make a final decision by the end of January, before pre-enrolment begins. We’ll share information with families once a decision is made.
