:: Study Buddy Professor and Student Outline
WHAT is Study Buddy?
- A volunteer tutoring program offered jointly by Edmonton Catholic and Edmonton Public Schools
- A program offering assistance to students, individually or in small groups, with an academic focus
- A minimum of one hour per week volunteer commitment
Who is involved?
- Elementary and junior high school students in Edmonton
- Post-secondary students like yourself from all faculties
When is it offered?
- During the school day, as your schedule allows
- Requires a two-three hour time slot
- Each post-secondary semester
- We recruit in September and January
Where is it offered?
In participating elementary and junior high schools
Why should I get involved?
- To help a child do better in school
- To obtain a letter of reference and a certificate of recognition
- To network with educational professionals
- To gain experience working with youth
