:: Board of Trustees - Ward A
Cheryl Johner has been supporting children as a community league volunteer, school council member and chairperson for 14 years. In 2008, she received a Recognition Award of Merit in the Parent Category from the District. Cheryl has gained governance experience while serving on the Board of Directors with the Alberta School Councils' Association and currently with the Society for Safe and Caring Schools and Communities. She is also an educational assistant who works with students with special needs in the classroom. A resident of Ward A for 17 years, Cheryl is married and has four children who are attending or have attended Edmonton Public Schools. Honoured to be a new member of the Board, Cheryl is focused on seeking to understand the issues and then doing what is best for students. She is committed to advocating for all students to be supported, accepted and helped throughout their educational journey. "I feel that being a Trustee means more than deciding on issues.
