Sarah Hoffman brings a varied perspective and background to her new role as a Trustee, having gained experience in both the field of education and the political sector. A resident of Ward G, she holds a master's degree in education from the University of Alberta and most recently was the director of research for the NDP. She believes in the importance of building relationships with school councils, staff and the broader community to ensure there is full representation on the Board. Sarah also supports the creation of advisory committees to promote diversity across Edmonton Public Schools. A top priority of hers is to keep the Board's focus on children, families and communities, which includes finding alternatives to school closures. Sarah is dedicated to keeping these values at the foundation of every decision the Board makes. "I believe that public education plays a key role in building strong communities. That means working to keep schools open. I count community accessibility for students with special needs and equity with regards to public education among my key principles of public education."
