Cloverdale and Strathearn attendance area change

News item: Cloverdale and Strathearn attendance area change

Edmonton Public Schools is making a small change to the designated K-6 attendance area for the Cloverdale and Strathearn neighbourhoods. Both neighbourhoods currently have a dual designation to Rutherford and Holyrood schools. Effective for September 2022, the neighbourhoods will be designated to Rutherford School only.

REASON FOR THIS CHANGE

Most students from these neighbourhoods are attending Rutherford School for the regular program. We don’t expect this change to impact too many students. Enrolment in the regular program at Holyrood School has also been declining over the last few years.

STAYING AT HOLYROOD SCHOOL

Students from these neighbourhoods who currently attend Holyrood School for the regular program can choose to stay at the school, if they wish.

This change does not impact students in French Immersion. Students from these neighbourhoods are still able to enrol in French Immersion programming at Holyrood School because they’re in the transportation service area for the program.

GETTING TO SCHOOL

Yellow bus service will be available to eligible elementary students attending Rutherford School.

Students who choose to remain at Holyrood School in the regular program would need to apply for conditional ridership, as Holyrood School will no longer be their designated school.
