News: Celebrating The Journey of First Nations, Métis and Inuit Graduates

Sixty First Nations, Métis and Inuit high school graduates attended the 7th annual Honouring Celebration on May 27, 2014. The celebration started with a pipe ceremony, followed by a feast and community round dance to honour the graduates.

Board Chair Sarah Hoffman and Superintendent Darrel Robertson attended the celebration and spoke on behalf of the Board of Trustees and Edmonton Public Schools. There are over 400 First Nations, Métis and Inuit graduates across the District. The honouring event celebrated their journey while providing an opportunity for approximately 530 Elders, district staff, students, guests and community members to come together and recognize key partners in education.
