ATTENDANCE AREA REDESIGNATION

The Glenridding Heights neighbourhood will be redesignated for Grades 10-12, effective for the 2018-19 school year.

REASONS FOR THE CHANGE

We heard from the community that they want students to attend a high school closer to home. Lillian Osborne School is closer than the current high school designation.

The change also means that all neighbourhoods within Dr. Margaret-Ann Armour’s attendance area are designated to Lillian Osborne, so students will go through elementary, junior high and high school together.

CHOOSING TO REMAIN AT STRATHCONA SCHOOL

Once a student enrols at a school, they can continue to attend that school. Siblings of these students can attend, as long as the student and their sibling attend the school at the same time.

TIMELINES

The change will be in effect for the 2018-19 school year.

PRE-ENROLMENT FOR THE 2018-19 SCHOOL YEAR

Parents of students currently attending a District school can pre-enrol in SchoolZone between March 12 and April 16, 2018. If your child is entering Grades 10-12, sign in to your parent account to select either Strathcona School or Lillian Osborne School as your preferred school, depending on where you choose to send your child.

Students are guaranteed entry to their designated school if they are register (new students) or pre-enrol (current students) no later than April 16, 2018.
