We accept all applications for all types of positions on an on-going basis. While most initial assignments are temporary in nature, excellent opportunities exist to move quickly to permanent status with outstanding benefits and opportunities for advancement.

All individuals hired to Edmonton Public Schools are required to submit records check documents within six weeks of initial employment.

Job opportunities available to external applicants are advertised in the Edmonton Journal as needed.

Exempt and leadership positions available to external applicants and unique or difficult-to-fill teacher positions are posted on Apply to Education. Applicants are invited to express interest in posted positions by submitting an application through the Apply to Education website. Examples of positions that might be posted are:

  • Teachers - French Immersion; Career and Technology Studies; Special Needs Programming
  • Exempt - Occupational Therapist; Physical Therapist; Speech Language Pathologist

Application Forms and Information - To submit a hard-copy application for custodial, maintenance, support, or teacher employment, the information and forms that you will require are available within each staff grouping as listed below. Staff Groups

  • Custodial - positions include: head custodians, spare custodians, charge hands, utility custodians, custodians and custodial assistants. Custodial staff are represented by CUPE Local 474.

  • Exempt - positions include school and central services non-management positions not covered by a collective agreement.

  • Leadership - positions include management positions either covered by a collective agreement with the Alberta Teachers' Association or exempt from any collective agreement.

  • Maintenance - positions include both tradesmen and maintenance workers. Maintenance staff are represented by CUPE Local 784.

  • Support - positions include administrative assistants, clerks, food preparers, interpreters, library technicians, secretaries, teacher assistants and technicians. Support staff are represented by CUPE Local 3550.

  • Teacher - positions are covered by a collective agreement with the Alberta Teachers' Association.
