Edmonton Public Schools is the second largest school district in Alberta with over 7,000 employees and approximately 80,000 students in more than 200 schools and education sites.
Applications for custodial, maintenance, support and teacher positions are accepted on an on-going basis. While most initial assignments are temporary in nature, excellent opportunities exist to move to permanent status with outstanding benefits and opportunities for advancement.
- Custodial - positions include: head custodians, spare custodians, charge hands, relief custodians, utility custodians, custodians and custodial assistants. Custodial staff are represented by CUPE Local 474.
- Maintenance - positions include both tradesmen and maintenance workers. Maintenance staff are represented by CUPE Local 784.
- Support - positions include administrative assistants, clerks, food preparers, interpreters, library technicians, secretaries, educational assistants and technicians. Support staff are represented by CUPE Local 3550.
- Teacher - positions are covered by a collective agreement with the Alberta Teachers' Association.
Permanent exempt and leadership positions available to external applicants are posted as required.
- Exempt - positions include school and central services non-management positions not covered by a collective agreement.
- Leadership - positions include management positions either covered by a collective agreement with the Alberta Teachers' Association or exempt from any collective agreement.
