News item: Help guide the future of inclusive education (2023)

If you’re a parent or community member who is passionate about creating a welcoming school environment for all students, help us support the inclusive system we envision for Edmonton Public Schools.

We’re seeking three new members to join our Inclusive Education Parent and Community Advisory Committee. We are accepting expressions of interest until 4 p.m. on June 14, 2023. Let’s work together to help provide a welcoming, inclusive school experience for all children. 

All parents and community members are encouraged to apply.

WHAT'S INVOLVED?

Our Inclusive Education Parent and Community Advisory Committee is made up of 10 community members and three representatives from Division administration.

The committee helps the Division strengthen its inclusive education system by:

Committee members are expected to:

  • serve a three-year term
  • attend three early-evening meetings at the Centre for Education each year

MEMBERSHIP AND SELECTION

Three candidates will be selected to fill vacancies on the committee, and additional applicants may be asked to fill positions that open up throughout the year. We seek a balanced representation of:

  • parents with children currently attending Division schools, and
  • other interested community members
