Specialized Learning Supports

Specialized Learning Supports (SLS) is dedicated to helping every student experience success, belonging and meaningful engagement in learning. This unit identifies, develops and shares inclusive learning strategies and provides support through School Linked Teams, in consultation with staff in schools. School Linked Teams, which include a multidisciplinary group of Division consultants who work in a wide range of areas, collaborate with principals, teachers and parents to better understand the student’s strengths, needs and learning context, and to identify strategies and supports that promote access, participation and success.

Specialized Learning Supports provides universal, targeted and specialized services. It takes a team approach that brings together a range of perspectives, expertise and supports for individual students and classrooms. Through collaboration and consultation, SLS helps educators build capacity to create inclusive learning environments where students from Kindergarten to Grade 12 can learn and engage in meaningful programming.
