Catherine and Robert Povaschuk

Catherine and Robert Povaschuk wish to assist scholarship recipients with expenses associated with proceeding on with their studies.

PURPOSE

The purpose of this scholarship is to recognize students registered at Edmonton Public Schools who are completing high school in the current year. The students have honours standing in academic courses and demonstrate the impact their extracurricular and community involvement has on others and will attend the University of Alberta.

SCHOLARSHIP AMOUNT: Three scholarships of $1,500 each

CRITERIA 

An applicant must: 

  • be registered at an Edmonton Public Schools high school and completing high school in the current year
  • have honours standing in academic courses
  • meet the entrance requirements for the program of their choice and have conditional acceptance at the University of Alberta
  • demonstrate the impact their extracurricular and community involvement has on others

The school principal will be asked to support the student’s application for this scholarship and verify the applicant has honours standing in their academic studies.

Application process

GET READY TO APPLY 

Before completing the application form, the applicant must: 

  • get a signed letter of reference from a current Edmonton Public Schools staff member
  • write a maximum 500-word letter to the selection team in which the student describes the impact their extracurricular and community involvement has on others
  • prepare a copy of their conditional acceptance from the University of Alberta

  3. Be sure all parts of your submission are properly prepared and ready to upload. Once you begin the application, there is no option to save your progress.

APPLICATION DEADLINE: Monday, April 29, 2024

SELECTION PROCESS

The selection team will rank each submission on the applicant's evidence of their academic standing and the impact their extracurricular and community involvement has on others. The recipient will be contacted in June.
