Grace Elaine Campbell Scholarship

Grace Elaine Campbell

Grace Elaine Campbell was a student at Garneau School in Edmonton. Throughout her life, she maintained a firm belief in the importance of a good education. Her career included working for the Attorney General of Alberta. In November 2000, friends and family established a trust fund in her memory that provides an annual scholarship to encourage a student graduating from Edmonton Public Schools to pursue a post-secondary education.

PURPOSE

The purpose of this scholarship is to recognize a student at Edmonton Public Schools who is completing high school in the current year, has attended Garneau School in Edmonton for at least two years and achieved a final blended mark of 50% or higher in English 30-2 or English 30-1, and will attend a post-secondary institution of their choice.

SCHOLARSHIP AMOUNT: $500

CRITERIA

The recipient must:

  • have attended Garneau School in Edmonton for at least two years
  • be completing their schooling at an Edmonton Public Schools high school
  • achieve a final blended mark of 50% or higher in English 30-2 or English 30-1
  • have acceptance and registration at a post-secondary institution

SELECTION PROCESS

The selection of the scholarship recipient will be made by Division staff. The student who fulfills the above criteria and has the highest mark in English 30-2 will receive the scholarship. If there is not an English 30-2 student who qualifies, the student who has the second highest mark in English 30-1 will be selected. If there is a tie, the student with the highest mark in English 20-2, or English 20-1 will be selected.

The recipient will be contacted in October.
