The motto of Grace Martin School, “Giving life to learning,” illustrates our belief that each student is unique. We understand that students learn differently and strive to meet the needs of each student. Our school provides the regular program as well as Opportunity and Sakinah Circle, an alternative program using the Quranic worldview to support learning. Students in the regular program also receive French instruction. Those in Sakinah Circle receive Arabic language instruction.
Students participate in physical education classes three times a week. Teachers may also assign daily physical education activities in their classrooms such as “shake breaks”, yoga-type exercises or by taking students outside. We also provide literacy supports through a blend of English Language Learning and one hour of Balanced Literacy four days a week. Students may also receive assistance in numeracy such as Math Intervention at least twice a week.
Our quality teaching and learning are also supported through a number of community partnerships such as Alberta Health Services, Breakfast Clubs of Canada and Homework Club.
Grace Martin School is the overflow designated school for Shauna May Seneca School.
