These numbers represent enrolment on September 30 as submitted to Alberta Education.

Program enrolment may not equal a school's total enrolment because:

  • students may be enrolled in more than one program, and
  • some programs are not shown.

Enrolment data gives parents a general understanding of the number of students at a school or enrolled in a program. Although we’ve made every reasonable effort to ensure the data is accurate, there may still be errors. To confirm enrolment, contact the school.

About Kirkness School

At Kirkness School, we empower students to develop the skills they need to build character, academic success, resiliency, and leadership. We work together with care and compassion in order to develop each individual’s sense of social responsibility and good citizenship. We are an inclusive school that sees diversity as a strength, and we promote self-expression, creativity, and empathy in our relations with each other.

Our Division Specialized Learning Supports team works with our school staff to provide support for inclusive programming, and we work with parents and other agencies to provide additional supports as needed. We actively encourage parent involvement and have a well-established School Council and Fundraising Society that supports equitable access to enrichment activities for all of our students.

SCHOOL PHILOSOPHY

We believe:

  • In giving everyone the opportunity to develop intellectually, socially, emotionally, physically and creatively as unique individuals
  • In providing a safe place where adults and students work together with care and compassion
  • That students achieve in a stimulating atmosphere where they are actively and meaningfully involved
