About Meyonohk School

Meyonohk School is located in the Lakewood district in the southwest area of Mill Woods. The school serves students of the Meyonohk neighbourhood and is designated as a southeast Division site for the Chinese (Mandarin) Bilingual program. Students in the regular program receive French as a Second Language in Grades 4 to 6 and all students in Grades 1 to 6 receive music instruction with a specialist teacher. Morning Star Montessori Centre is located in our school building and many of our Kindergarten students attend the Centre before or after their Kindergarten program.

SCHOOL NAME

Meyonohk (Mîyonohk) means “in a good spot or place” in Cree.
