Learn to ride the bus safely at First Riders—August 24

News item: First Riders event 2026

Calling all future bus riders! Join us for a free, hands-on event that helps students and families get ready to ride the bus safely before the school year begins.

If your child will be riding the yellow bus or Edmonton Transit Service (ETS) for the first time this fall, join us on Monday, August 24, at the Edmonton EXPO Centre. Afternoon and evening sessions are available.

FUTURE BUS RIDERS WELCOME!

First Riders is for:

  • Pre-Kindergarten children and Kindergarten students
  • Grade 7 students transitioning to Edmonton Transit Service
  • Any student new to riding the bus or looking for a refresher before the school year begins

This yearly event is hosted by:

  • Edmonton Public Schools
  • Conseil scolaire Centre-Nord
  • Edmonton Transit Service (ETS) and bus contractors in the Edmonton area
