News item: Update about online learning for Grades 7 to 12

On April 29, 2021, the Government of Alberta announced new targeted regional health measures province-wide. Starting May 3, Grades 7–12 students in a number of regions throughout Alberta, including Edmonton, will shift to online learning for two weeks.

ONLINE LEARNING CONTINUES TO MAY 17

This means Division students in Grades 7–12 who shifted online on April 22 will continue to learn online, with an anticipated return to in-person classes on May 17 based on direction from the province. Students in Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 6 and those in need of specialized supports will continue to attend classes as planned.

As cases in our communities rise, continuing online learning can help slow the spread of COVID-19. We understand this news may be disappointing; however, the safety of our students, staff and families are a priority at this time.
