About Mee-Yah-Noh School

Mee-Yah-Noh School is focused on ensuring every student experiences success in learning. We provide Kindergarten to Grade 6 programming. We are also a Division site for Community Learning Skills and Interactions programs. Our Full-day Kindergarten program has a strong focus on providing background knowledge and developing language and vocabulary.

Students who require specialized programming come from a number of communities. We have a supportive school council and parent association, and we partner with community organizations to help meet the needs of students and families.

SCHOOL PHILOSOPHY

We believe:

  • that every student is responsible for his or her own learning and behaviour
  • in providing security and a sense of belonging and community
  • that parents and school staff work in partnership to develop all aspects of a student’s education

SCHOOL NAME

Mee-Yah-Noh (phonetic spelling for Mîyonohk) means “a great place to be” or “in a good place” in Cree.
