Ward: H Term: 2025 to 2029

Dr. Melanie Hoffman has spent her career building safer, healthier and more inspiring places to learn. 

A PhD chemist and longtime educator, she helped launch the EcoSchools Canada program in the Edmonton region, supporting teachers and students to learn with and from nature, become responsible stewards, and advance Truth and Reconciliation. Melanie has been a dedicated community organizer and volunteer, co-chairing the City of Edmonton’s Energy Transition and Climate Resilience Advisory Committee and leading local projects that turn ideas into lasting change.

As a parent, advocate and lifelong learner, Melanie believes fairness, inclusion and collaboration are at the heart of public education. She’s committed to listening to families, supporting teachers and ensuring every student has the resources they need to thrive in safe, equitable and sustainable schools.

Melanie is honoured, humbled and excited to bring her passion for education, sustainability and community to the Board of Trustees.
